Make personalized wood-image-transfer art
Saturday, May 13, 2017
6:00 – 8:00PM
How it works:
Learn how to master the technique of transferring images to wood. First, we will be talking about the specific materials and mediums you will need to make transfers. Everything will be described in a way so you can produce more image transfer art on your own, and how to experiment with transfers on different materials. Then we will create two image transfers onto wood. You have the option to use your own photos for the project, or use ones that we provide.
We provide all project materials including the wood, photo transfer materials, and easy to follow instructions. During the class, you will use your photo that you sent in advance or use photos that we provide. If you are going to use your own photos, follow the instructions below.
Instructions for submitting images:
– Photos should be square and approximately 6″x6″. Any non-square photos will be cropped.
– High-quality photos with little to no white spaces yield the best results. Do not compress photo before sending.
– Email your photo to email@example.com with the participant’s name at least 1 day in advance of the workshop (sooner is appreciated!)
Want to make more than two wooden photo transfers? Add-on extra wood pieces for just $5 each. Remember to send in your additional photos. If you want to make more than 3, you may need to finish your project at home.
Transfer medium and sealant may damage clothing. Dress in something appropriate for crafting.
This event takes place at TechShop in Bakery Square. BYOB is welcomed for this workshop, and cups and corkscrews will be provided.
