Learn the techniques of block printing in this workshop where you will make your own block and several prints using different blocks.
Tuesday, April 10, 2018
7:00 – 9:00PM
How it works:
This workshop covers the basics of block printing, from carving a block to creating printed images. First, we will cover the different types of block materials, inks, and papers you can use in the printing process. Then, you will design your own block and carve it in the workshop. Using your carved block you’ll print personalized note cards. You’re welcome to make additional prints with some house blocks, or swap with friends.
Block design notes:
We will have many different design ideas for you to choose from and that you can mix and match to your liking. Original designs are always welcome. If you bring your own design, it should fit within a 2×3″ area. Note, the more complex the design, the longer the carving process may take.
All project materials will be provided, including carving block, tools, block printing ink, design ideas and easy to follow instructions.
